Environment now a matter of philosophy for Polydec…
Green power in the Seeland region
All of Polydec SA's electricity needs are met not only by renewables, but also green power produced by the small hydroelectric power station in the Taubenloch gorge.
The turbine on the small hydroelectric power station converts the force of the water flowing along the Suze river into electricity, releasing no CO2 or other harmful emissions in its production of electricity.
You will find more information on the small hydroelectric power station in the Taubenloch gorge on http://www.taubenlochstrom.ch.
Polydec SA's entire heating system is powered by biogas, a natural energy source obtained from organic waste, which does not require any storage facilities and which is climate friendly.
Physically, these green energies are no different from so-called "standard" energies. Electricity and gas are the same for the consumer, regardless of how they are produced.
Energie Service Biel/Bienne (ESB) guarantees that the same quantity of energy consumed by Polydec SA is reinjected into the network as green power and biogas. All their facilities are "naturemade star" certified (http://www.naturemade.org/Englisch/Label/label_e.htm).
Even though its undertaking may seem minute on a global scale, Polydec SA is proud to make this small contribution.
