Knurling

In knurling a structure is rolled in the metallic surface of the workpiece between two negative forms in a hydraulic press. This requires a pressure of several tons, which is generated in hydraulic pumps.

The knurled surfaces are used in further processing of the workpieces as the substrate for moulded plastic parts (cams, gears, etc...) or pressed on metal parts (such as magnets).
