For the fourth year in a row, Polydec exhibited at the MD&M West in Anaheim (CA), an international exhibition for suppliers of products and components to the medical industry.
As the medical device market becomes more important, the Swiss company decided to also exhibit at the Medtec in Yokohama (Japan), from April, 7 to 8 2009 (www.devicelink.com/ expo/ japan09/ index_en.html).

Precision is an essential element in the micro-turning and it is also an important element in some sports, a point the Polydec team knows something about… Last week all the staff were invited to a curling-initiation, a sport practised on ice with heavy polished granite stones that asks rigour and concentration.
In spite of some falls, the laughter and the good mood were there!
The evening ended with a delicious “fondue”. Another affair that slides…

For continuous improvements in work place security, Polydec offered all its employees training in fire protection.
The training included: identification of different types of fires; ways of using the various tools to extinguish a fire, and understanding precautionary measures.
Henceforth, all Polydec staff are prepared to face all emergency situations.

Indeed, last September 30th, about ten employees were trained in emergency resuscitation.
The company is equipped with a defibrillator to guarantee first care in case of cardiac stop.

A delegation of American journalists was in Switzerland, from September 21st to 28th, to visit different Swiss companies in the field of precision engineering. The goal of this initiative: to show their readers the opportunities that the Swiss market offers in the field. Polydec was honored to be among the companies selected and hosted the 20 journalists on Sept. 25th, to present its capabilities in fabricating extremely small micro turned parts.

Today, March 5, 2008, at 15h38, we have produced our 2'000'000'000th part!
« It is an outstanding event... in 1985 - at the time of the foundation of Polydec - Jean-François and I were far from imagining to be able to hold our 2'000'000'000'000th part in our hands twenty years later. At that time, we produced 2'500'000 parts annually. We wanted to mark this event by inviting all our colleagues, without whom we would not have arrived at this result, to drink a glass of champagne. », said Mr. Claude Konrad, cofounder of the company this afternoon, with a smile in the corner of the lips.

New buildings, new challenges !

We have been active in our new premises for a few weeks. The fleet of CNC machines has been increased by 30%. And that is not all... other machines are expected next month. Our first goals are to double our production and to reduce our delivery deadlines. With these objectives in mind, we also plan to recruit about ten new collaborators soon.

A new fabrication facility to open soon

The work on the new facility is progesing well. Offices are planned to move the second part of August and the fabrication departments will move at the beginning of September. Additional CNC machines have been ordered . The new space and controlled climate system create an ideal environment for quality manufacturing

20 years at Polydec for Pietro Citro

20 year ago a very young Pietro began at Polydec as an engineer. At the time, Polydec was only two years old. After the two founders, Pietro is has been at Polydec the longest. He is certainly one of the most appreciated not only for his good humor but also for his capabilities. We look forward to the next 20 years!

The building of the passageway between Polydec I and Polydec II started on Tuesday April 24th, 2007.
We wish to enter the new manufacturing department and offices during this summer.

Since January 2007, we own a new building. During year 2007, the manufacturing department as well as the administration will be relocated to this building. Initially, we have planned to increase the CNC screw-machine park by approx. ten machines in order to shorten delivery times.
